New
Hope United Methodist Church of Elkhart,
Indiana, was designed under the premise that the main
dome structure would contain the necessary elements
in order to conduct worship. When Pastor Mike Saddler
and his congregation began development of this project,
they wanted the classrooms and sanctuary contained
in one greater superstructure. To accomplish this,
they turned to ADECO, Inc., and the experience of
United Church Structures.
The
design of the structure was laid out with the premise
that the UCS shell would contain the sanctuary, while
a wrap-around addition would hold the hallway, classrooms,
bathrooms, and offices. The congregation was hoping
to make this the first step in a multiphase building
process which would encompass a three dome complex.
New
Hope United Methodist is a unique structure which
showcases what can be done through the combined expertise
of UCS and a qualified design/build team. As a team
they created a very appealing structure. Its present
seating is 312 with a possible expansion to 400. With
a 17' side wall they can also add a balcony in the
future.
The
crowning touch of the entryway and the wonderful use
of a wrap-around created a geodesic based complex
unlike any other. If you would like to know more about
